This movie starts with an war rescue film going behind schedule and millions of dollars in debt within the first few days of shooting. The director Damien Cockburn (Steve Coogan) takes some bad advice from the author of the book, John "Four Leaf" Tayback (Nick Nolte) and decides to shoot the film guerrilla-style. Tugg Speedman (Ben Stiller) gets kidnapped by a drug cartel named Flaming Dragon and when they make ransom demands they get his agent Rick Peck (Matthew McConaughey) who only wants to know if he has TiVo and producer Lee Grossman (Tom Cruise) who insults and threatens Flaming Dragon. The rescue attempt is made by his fellow actors who spend most of their time bickering among themselves. Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr.) keeps trying to be in charge while pretending to be an African American and only succeeds in making a fool of himself and offending Alpa Chino (Brandon Jackson). Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black) losses his "jelly beans" and has the DT's.
